July 1992: Süderbrarup, Germany. The
Angler breed and Danish Red (RDM - Rød Dansk Malkerace) make an
agreement on breeding cooperation and recognizing each others' breeds and
herdbooks.
March 1993: Odense, Denmark. The Angler breed and
Danish Red sign the agreement on cooperation and recognizing each others'
breeds and herdbooks. The breeding cooperation is named “European Red
Dairy Breed” (ERDB), the names Angler and Danish Red Dairy Breed
(Rød Dansk Malkerace - RDM) remain as national and international
designations within the geographical area of each breed. The cooperation is
open to other red breeds in Europe.
October 1993: Aarhus, Denmark. The
three Baltic breeds: Eesti Punane Kari (EPK - Estonian Red), Latvijas Bruna (LB
- Latvian Brown) and Lietuvos Zalieji Galvijai (LZG - Lithuanian Red) join the
agreement on breeding cooperation and the “European Red Dairy
Breed” organization is formed and founded. A Breeding Council is formed
with three representatives from each breed, a total of 15 persons. The Board of
Directors is elected, one member from each breed. The first President is Holger
Moritz Hansen, RDM, Vice-Presidents are Dr. Rüdiger Wolf, Angler and
Director Tônis Soonets. Other members are Dr. Aleksanders
Jemel-janovs, LB and Dr. Algirdas Banys, LZG. The first secretary is Orla
Kastrup Kristensen, RDM.
March 1994: Tartu, Estonia. The Constitu-tion
and the breeding goals are approved.
October 1994: Sigulda, Latvia. Swedish
Red and White Breed (SRB - Svensk röd og vit boskab) participates in the
Breeding Council assembly, and from January 1 1995 it joins the organization as
a full member. Holger Moritz Hansen retires as President, and is nominated
Honorable Member. Jens Lindvig, RDM is elected as new President.
May 1995: Süderbrarup, Germany.
Norwegian Red (NRF - Norsk Rødt Fe) and Polish Red participate as
observers in the Board of Directors' meeting.
October 1995: Jönköbing, Sweden. The
third Breeding council assembly takes place in connection with the
“Elmia” exhibition.
March 1996: Panevezys, Lithuania. Polish
(Polska Czerwona) Red joins the organization at the meeting in Lituania.
October 1996: Balice, Poland. The
fourth Breeding Council assembly took place. Norwegian Red (NRF) and Finnish Ayrshire
were recognized as new members.
Montbeliarde participated in the meeting.
It was decided that a work-shop for classifiers will take
place in spring 1997.
April 1997: Tune, Denmark. Workshop for
classifiers of ERDB member countries.
May 1997: Odense, Denmark. The fifth Breeding
Council assembly. Dr. Rüdiger Wolf, Angel, elected as president.
April 1998: Hamar, Norway. The sixth Breeding
Council assembly.
May 1999: Tartu, Estonia. The seventh
Breeding Council assembly.
April 2000: Tampere, Finland. The
eighth Breeding Council assembly.
May 2002: Riga, Latvia. The ninth Breeding
Council assembly.
May 2003: Vilnius, Lithuania. The
tenth Breeding Council assembly. Austrian Dairy Simmental participated in the
meeting as observes.
May 2004. Kropp, Germany. The 11th
Breeding Council assembly. Lars A. Iversen, RDM elected as new president.
October 2005. Skara, Sweden. The 12 th Breeding
Council assembly. Russian Red Steppe were recognized as new members.
October 2006. Norway. The 13 th Breeding Council
assembly.
July 2008. Estonia. The 14 th Breeding Council
assemply.
